How to Choose a Wedding Minister in Central Florida

June 22nd, 2008 by miacummins

By Karla Ruzycki-Davis Perfect Ceremonies are Created by the Best Wedding Ministers When it’s time to buy a house, choose a car or trust someone to paint your house you want and expect nothing but the best! It is no different when choosing a Minister to officiate your Wedding! The perfect wedding minister knows a thing or two about love, weddings, and creating a memorable ceremony. Key things to look for are a fresh and vibrant person who is a breath of fresh air! Tired of stale, stuffy, old traditional Ministers who have everyone falling asleep at the reading of 1 Corinthians 13? We are too! Do you feel like the weddings you attend are identical to all the others but simply with a different Bride and Groom? Find someone who is recognized as a worldwide Professional Speaker or as an Author, Love Coach or Poet with several published books and consistently writes about love and relationships. This can add suggestions to create the most memorable of ceremonies. Opt out of a cookie-cutter ceremony, rather speak up as the Bride and Groom so your Minister can best understand what you are trying to achieve. Is it fun, crazy and comical, or is it traditional and conservative? Perhaps it is unique with a sand ceremony on the beach? Whatever venue you choose and whatever your dream wedding ceremony consists of, make it happen! It is important to build a relationship with your Wedding Minister before even preparing for the ceremony. All of the testimonials of your Minister of choice should be “WOW! This was the perfect ceremony!” Find someone who is happy to meet with you to answer any questions that you might have surrounding the ceremony and the rehearsal. Make sure your Officiant will be present at the Rehearsal and ensures everyone knows their place so they are fully prepared for the Big Day! The God Delusion and The Self Delusion in Buddhism

June 19th, 2008 by miacummins

By Soei Tan Marx said religion is opium, Dawkins (”The God Delusion (TGD)” )argued that God is a delusion. The debate on TGD has been very heated, to get some idea, read The Huffington Post for a summary of Dawkins’ position and about 580 comments running across 24 pages. Most discussions are related to Christianity, what about Buddhism? Buddhism is regarded as Pantheistic, and sometimes agnostic, so the clash with Dawkins is not expected to be as sharp. First thing to note, however, is that there are many schools of Buddhism, with very different views about God. Theravada (or doctrine of the Elders) is definitely agnostic, and refuses to go into intellectual arguments about things not here and now. It focuses on the purification of the mind, which if achieved, could provide answers to the difficult questions. Discussing it now when our minds are full of mind viruses is futile. It is told that the historical Buddha, an ordinary person, said that he can only point the way, everybody needs to tread their own paths. This is different from Stephen Jay Gould’s ‘NOMA’ - ‘non-overlapping magisteria’. Gould claimed that science and true religion never come into conflict because they exist in completely separate dimensions of discourse. Other schools of Buddhism believe in certain Gods and Goddesses, such as bodhisattvas, who have vowed to help all sentient being to be liberated. Such boddhisattvas are worshipped for their superpowers. These schools would be at loggerheads with Dawkins. Other schools believe in Buddha-nature, or in Sunyata (Emptiness), which is some kind of Pantheism, similar to what Spinoza and Einstein believed. “Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: It transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural and the spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity.” Albert Einstein Is Buddhism a meme? Going further to Dawkins earlier work “The Selfish Gene”, where he introduced the term meme as a unit of cultural transmission, we may ask if Buddhism is a meme. Dawkins said that religions or religious practices and rituals are complexes of memes or memplexes. Some of the Buddhist rituals are definitely memes, but it is interesting to hear Susan Blackmore, the author of “The Meme Machine” about meditation: “if a meditational system such as Buddhism is a meme, then it is actually a very peculiar one - a meme-clearing meme.” Meditation is a tool to be aware of the viruses in our mind, including religions. The self delusion Finally, the central tenet of Buddhism is the no self doctrine: no self, no soul, no reincarnation. It regards the Self Delusion as a much serious problem than the God delusion. I wonder if Dawkins would regard self as a delusion. True Love - Part 1

June 15th, 2008 by miacummins

By Adeyemi Adetosoye True Love! We all dream of being in love with that significant other, at some point in our lives. Is it better to have loved once than not to have loved at all? If this is really the case, then how do we actually find true love? How can a man or a woman really get to the core of the whole relationship game? What are the rules of such a game? More often than not, it is not uncommon to find that either one partner feels really strongly about the other, whilst the other just bides time because he or she is the only one available at the time. The key to marriage and happily-ever-after, lies first and foremost, with finding the right person. A lot of folks believe that there may be just one unique individual for every person in the world. I however, beg to differ. Wherever one goes, there is always the possibility of meeting one or more persons who uniquely match our tastes - philosophically, culturally, materially, emotionally and of course, physically (those sure do come a dime a dozen). Okay, lets get down to brass tacks here. Why would one person be into another, whilst the other hardly misses a beat? There are a myriad of reasons, reasons which I will discuss in other articles. For now, wed discuss the most fundamental one: Maybe he/she is not your true love. This leads us to a definition of the same. What is true love? Simply put, true love is the epitome of all your needs and desires in the other person, to a large extent. To a large extent? I hear you ask. Surely, to a large extent, because you can NEVER meet another human being who perfectly epitomizes what you truly desire in a significant other. To a large extent, however, it is possible to find such a one, but only just so. Lets analyze the last bit of my discourse for instance. Twins born of the same womb would hardly always see eye to eye over the same issue. Husbands and wives, even after 50 years of marriage would still not see eye-to-eye on certain issues, yet they live together: happily, we hope. Hence, why wait for the perfect person? Humans are basically emotional and whimsical creatures. We are not robots, cannot be programmed to do only the same things. The only way we discipline ourselves is via several years of repetition, till we perform almost by rote. Therefore, we can never be perfect. Not in everything. You can never get another man just the exact flavor, the exact shade, the exact build, the exact manner of laughter, the exact you name it. Even if heor shes of pristine character, he may defer from his ways just because. Because what? Just because. BECAUSE WHAT? CAUSE I FELT LIKE IT, OKAY? Whimsical Creatures. It could have been anything. The room temperature, the color of the sky, his boss may have spoken rudely to him, he got drenched in the rain, blah, blah, blah. Okay, so dont look for perfection. Thats the first general rule of finding true love. In further articles, I will expound further on Finding True Love. ************************************************************************ Knowledge is NOT power; it is only empowering. The Application of Knowledge IS power. ************************************************************************ About The Author Christopher Adeyemi Adetosoye is author of A Mans Guide to Finding True Love and A Womans Guide to Finding True Love, E-books, which are currently available at www.trueloveguide.com; webmaster@trueloveguide.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Adeyemi_Adetosoye http://EzineArticles.com/?True-Love—Part-1&id=16697 home phone service no credit check kentucky how to calculate a paycheck payday loans with phone telephone number to call internationally money lenders

How To Start a Lawn

June 7th, 2008 by miacummins

By Robert Gettle If carefully prepared and properly maintained, your lawn can last a hundred years. So if you prepare and plant carefully you can have a lawn that should be thriving for generations to come. When you put in a lawn you are truly preparing for the future. With all that riding on your lawn, doesn’t it make sense to put some time into careful preparation. Whether or not you choose sod or seed your lawn area should be raked level and very smooth . For the best job you should be able to walk on the lawn bed and leave very little or no foot prints. The smoother and firmer your lawn bed the better job you will do on your lawn. Drainage is critical. For good drainage your lawn should slope gently away from your house. This step is crucial. If this step is not carefully observed your lawn can turn into something resembling a swamp when it rains. First you need to find out about your soil’s makeup. Contact your local county agent or buy a simple soil test. Most grasses do best in a ph level of 6 to 7. Lime added to the soil will improve the soil structure and provide a less acidic better chemical balance for the soil bacteria. If you add organic matter such as peat moss or compost it will increase the growth rate of your grass and decrease the maintainence required. A 1 to 2 inch dried animal manure layer worked into the soil will provide nutirents and increase germination rates. If seeding your lawn it is a very good idea to look carefully at a seed mixture. A good seed mixture wil grow well in both sun and shade areas of your lawn. You can get the finer bladed grasses which make a nicer lawn. Be sure to get a perennial mixture with very little or no annual seed in the mix. You want to get a fast germinating grass seed in the mixture such as a fine leafed rye grass seed. The best time to sow seed is in September to early Octber. Or early spring after the ground warms. If you lay down seed on the cold ground it will most likely lay there and rot. Sod can go in any time, though the prefered time is spring or fall. If you are sowing seed follow the package directed amounts of seed to use. Then rake lightly to cover the seed with about 1/8 ” soil. Roll the area after planting seed or laying sod. Cover seed with a layer of mulch to conserve moisture. Spread a layer of peat moss or straw about 1/8 inch thick after rolling the area. Burlap covering is not recommended unless on a slope. If you use burlap be sure to remove it as soon as germination begins. Nothing will kill your new lawn faster then dryness. To maintain the moisture level of your new lawn you should water several times a day the first week.Water once a day the next week. Less fequent but more deep watering is required as your grass grows. All this water will of course cause the weeds to germinate as well. Don’t worry your healthy thriving lawn will soon choke them out. Be sure to keep everyone off your lawn until it is well established, this includes the dogs. Rambunctious dogs can destroy your new lawn very quickly. When your lawn has grown about two inches it is time to mow. Make sure the blades are sharp and your mower is set about 11/2 inches high. The following spring top dress your lawn with about inch of an organic fertilizer. Be sure not to cover the grass blades completely they need to be poking through . Water well if no rain arrives. M17 Gas Masks

June 1st, 2008 by miacummins

By Ross Bainbridge The US military uses the M17 series gas masks to protect its forces from chemical and biological weapon attacks. These masks are the latest in a series of gas masks used by the US military. The M17 gas masks provide protection from all types of known chemical and biological agents present in the air. The mask has different components like a filter t, face piece and outserts. Filter elements t in the face piece removes harmful agents from entering the mask. The M17 series includes two types of masks -M17A1 and M17A2. These gas masks have inbuilt systems that facilitate communication — a tube for drinking water and a pair of outserts to protect eye lenses and prevent fogging. The mask is packed in a carrier that also contains other items like a nerve agent antidote kit (NAAK) and a convulsant antidote for nerve agents (CANA). It also contains a waterproof bag to protect filter elements from water damage. Other components attached are mask hoods to protect the head and neck area, a winterization kit to prevent frost accumulation during cold weather conditions and optical inserts for soldiers with vision defects. The mask offers protection from harmful agents, but does not function properly in places where oxygen content is low. The mask is not meant to be used for firefighting and does not provide protection from radiation. It is recommended that users continue wearing it until the biological or chemical agent is identified. The risk of terrorist attacks by rogue organizations and states has increased. The sarin gas attack in a Japanese subway that affected hundreds of people illustrates the growing risk posed by terrorism. The masks provide protection from such chemical agents. The demand for these masks is expected to increase in the near future. Gas Mask provides detailed information on Gas Masks, Military Gas Masks, Surplus Gas Masks, Gas Masks For Sale and more. May 29th, 2008 by miacummins

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Monalisa_Hyden] Monalisa Hyden Life veers to a negative way when depression hits, leaving life at stake. The patients of hypertension and depression are prescribed antidepressants. Depression itself lowers the libido or sexual urge, on top of it one of the most common side effects of antidepressants is erectile dysfunction thus leading to overall sexual dysfunction. According to different studies, 75% of people suffering from depression and hypertension also suffer from loss of libido. And the balance damage to the sexual life of these already depressed people is done by the SSRIs, MAOIs, Tricyclics, and Tetracyclics. These antidepressants induce more decrease in the libido level, loss of orgasm or delay in getting one and premature or painful ejaculation. The PDE5 mechanism has revealed a way of discussion on erectile function and provided a better understanding of the issue. The open and honest discussions on sexual problems helped the scientists to know more about the nature of sexual function and thus led to the search of certain medicines which have proved to be a boon to the Human Sexual World. One such miraculous chemical Sildenafil Citrate was manufactured by Pfizer and sold under brand name Viagra. Viagra has successfully treated varied organic, psychogenic or mixed aetiology in the last 7 years and more than 750,000 physicians have prescribed Viagra to more than 23 million men. In the same way, it is also effective in men with ED and co morbidities such as hypertension, diabetes related depression and hyperlipidaemia. Sildenafil Citrate, the blue pill named Viagra, this wonder drug can treat almost all types of erectile problems. A current research on patients with ED aged 18 years and older results showed that 68% of them have at least one diagnosis of diabetes related depression or normal depression, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia (Seftel et al. J Urol 2004;171: 2341-5). In another study, researchers concentrated on the effects of taking Viagra just before sexual activity, the samples contained 90 men with an average age of 45 suffering from sexual dysfunction as a result of their treatment for depression. The result showed that the erectile function, arousal, ejaculation, orgasm, improved who took Viagra. Many studies running under different institutes show that the action of Viagra in the human body does not get effected by SSRIs and tricyclics like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, such as Prozac, Celexa, Paxil, etc. Viagra, the first PDE5 to rock the ED world, can treat the antidepressant and depression and other psychological problems induced sexual dysfunction. Viagra has opened a door of pleasure and happiness to those who are depressed and unhappy. New facts are coming up everyday related to human sexual behavior and its intricacies. The Art of Listening - Market Research Tools That Any Company Can Use

May 26th, 2008 by miacummins

By Jay Lipe For thousands of years, people have conducted market research. I dont mean with fancy focus groups or complicated conjoint analysis, but just by asking questions and listening to the answers. Using this art of listening is so crucial to the success of your companys marketing, that to deny it is to invite failure. Follow along as I show you how to use marketing research to funnel knowledge into your marketing programs. Why research is so important In the early 1990s when I started my own consulting business, I conducted my own little research survey. I wrote on a piece of paper a 100 word description of what my consulting practice would look like that included 1) The target audience for the practice 2) What these buyers wanted from a consultant and 3) How my practice would be different from others. Then, I set up coffee appointments with 20 business leaders, and put this written description in front of them. After asking for their feedback, I sat back and listened. Their advice was invaluable. I learned that my positioning, focusing on growing companies without an in-house marketing department, was on target (it remains my positioning today). I also learned that clients like these were less interested in hearing about my Fortune 500 work experience and more interested in knowing how I would help organizations their size. Because of this research, I believe my companys marketing ended up being more focused and targeted. Research can also perfect products A short while ago, I worked with a major company that was launching a brand new zero-turn radius riding mower. New to this market, the company and I wanted to perfect the products design before launching so we organized a series of consumer focus groups. Up to this point, I had been working with the internal design team to develop a product prototype. We were supremely confident that we had designed the right product for the market, and saw the research as a mere rubber stamp for the design. However, when we showed the prototype to the focus group participants, we were shocked by their reaction. Almost every single participant didnt care for the front end design. Flimsy and breakable were two words that we heard often, and words that clearly didnt support the brands positioning. During the next week, we scrambled to redesign the front end and hastily organized a series of one-on-one research interviews with these same participants to get feedback on the new design. In the end, they loved it and, as of this writing, the product has been launched successfully and has contributed significant, incremental revenue to the company. But I shudder to think what might have happened if we had launched the product in its original design, without this research. Im convinced the product would have bombed, costing the company millions of dollars and tarnishing its reputation. Research can deepen relationships Whatever the size of your company, youll find that research strengthens the bonds between your company and its buyers. The bottom line is: people like it when you ask for their opinion. Not only will they feel they are contributing to your companys success, but youll learn more about their perceptions of: * Your company identity *Your competitors * New markets and products for your company Research firm TARP has found that for every person that complains, 26 others dont. So, if 10 customers have complained recently to your company, another 260 may have held their tongues while turning to your competitors. Properly conducted research many times acts as a feedback machine designed to root out these peoples thoughts. Other important research payoffs * Research can reestablish dialogues with long-lost customers Sometimes a survey is all that is needed to reestablish a dialogue between a company and a customer that feels ignored. * Research gives people a chance to vent Sometimes people just want to air out their feelings. This doesnt mean they will abandon you or your company. To the contrary, they may respect you more for giving them the chance. * Research can find new growth opportunities right under your nose - A client of mine in the healthcare data industry told me a great story about his companys market research. It seemed that several years ago, his half million dollar company decided to survey its customers. One of the questions it asked was, “What new products would you like to see us offer?” Of the 90 responses it received, an overwhelming number said they would like to see the company offer market share data. The company moved quickly and within less than a year began offering market share data. The result? His business more than quadrupled over the next two years. * Research can increase awareness of ancillary products Good surveys not only collect data, but disseminate information. As long as it is handled tastefully, you can educate consumers about your companys new products or services with a survey. * Research can sometimes reactivate dormant customers - I once helped an industrial services client survey its past customers, ones it hadnt heard from in over a year. After asking for their feedback on the previous work, we included the following question: Do you know of anyone, in your company or outside of it, who could benefit from the services XYZ provides? The response was overwhelming. In the end, the survey generated over $700,000 in sales from both active and dormant accounts. The best low-cost market research tools * One-on-one interviews This is one of my favorite research techniques. In it, you (or better yet, an outside consultant) speaks directly with your companys customers, one at a time. Via phone or in-person, you walk the respondent through a standard questionnaire. Each respondent is asked the same questions and the interviews are designed to take less than 30 minutes each. Here are some questions I like to use in these interviews: * At that time, why did you become a customer of our company? * With respect to (your industry) what are your biggest challenges you face? * How did you first learn about our company? * How does our company help you with these challenges? * Who are our biggest competitors that you deal with? What are their strengths & weaknesses? * What are our greatest strengths? Weaknesses? * What do we do that no one else does in the market? * What other capabilities or services would you like to see XYZ offer? * Which of our competitors do the best job of marketing? * Post purchase surveys To keep the lines of communication open between you and your customers, administer a quick customer satisfaction survey right after delivering your product or service. It will help your company keep tabs on how well youre doing with your customers, and can also head off potential problems. Given everyones preoccupation with time, I limit my companys survey to one page. Its a fax-back survey with just five questions, and 90 percent of all surveys are returned. Here are some questions that can be used in a survey like this: -What one thing did you like about doing business with us? -What one thing would you change about our company? -When you bought our product, what did you really end up with? -On a scale of 1 to 10, please rate us on the job we did for you. -What would it take for you to stay with us for five years? * NetworkingThese days networking gets a lot of attention as a lead generation device, but I also see networking as a market research vehicle. Next time you, or someone from your sales organization, sets up a networking meeting, identify one piece of research information youd like to obtain. It could be something about your major competitor (e.g., What do you know about XYZ Company?) or something about your typical customer behavior (e.g., What additional services do you see customers in our market needing?) Gathering vital research information can sometimes be as cheap as a cup of coffee. * Blogs Blogs are a great way to encourage dialogues with your market. Savvy marketers are now using blogs to: -Elicit instant feedback from customers -Have simultaneous conversations with customers and prospects and -Facilitate the spread of buzz about your company. Ever since starting my blog (www.emergemarketing.com/blog), Ive noticed that it serves as a useful feedback device. I hear from experts far and wide, and dialogues can sometimes break out between them with me as the moderator. If youre interested in starting a blog, visit http://www.typepad.com/ or http://www.blogger.com/ . * Customer Clubs When I was the marketing director at a mattress manufacturer, each quarter wed host an informal conversation with our customers. Wed invite five to ten customers to our headquarters, and conduct a no-holds-barred conversation with them about our products and marketing. Boy, were they flattered.Over popcorn and soft drinks, wed show them new product prototypes or share preliminary ad concepts. All of this proved extremely valuable in developing our product mix and marketing messages.Just as important, these customers left the meetings with a renewed feeling of loyalty. Wed cared enough to ask for their input, and most were very appreciative of that. Id highly recommend customer clubs as a valuable (and cheap) way to gather market feedback. * Mystery shopping - Used widely by the retail industry, these studies hire an outsider to pose as a shopper at a companys store. Studies like this help your company identify strengths and weaknesses in the following areas: ** Store appearance ** Service quality ** Selling skills of your personnel ** Product selection ** Pricing To get the best results for this type of research, hire an outside firm and be very specific about the kind of feedback youre seeking. * Usability testing If your companys Web site plays a significant role in building the companys identity, you may want to consider usability testing. Usability testing determines how well users can interact with your companys website. In a typical web usability test, one or two users sit in a room and use the web site to perform certain tasks, while company marketers watch, listen, videotape or take notes. For more information on usability testing visit the Usability Professionals Association Web site at http://www.upassoc.org/ or read Steve Krugs excellent book, Dont Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability. One reason to use outsiders for customer research If your company can afford it, consider hiring an outsidereither a consultant or researcherto conduct much of this research. Many customers are reluctant to share their true opinions for fear of damaging the relationship. I have interviewed countless customers and prospects for my clients and Im always a little surprised at how open they are with me. Perhaps they feel more comfortable telling an objective third party person the unvarnished truth. Somw other tips on market research * Always thank respondents after a research session. Send flowers or just send a thank you note, but find a way to recognize the time and effort theyve sacrificed for your company. * Whenever possible, try to quantify research results. Phrase questions along the line of On a scale of 1 to 5, how important is it to you that __________. This produces data that can be quantified and is easier to draw conclusions from. * If your product is widely distributed, keep your eye on consumer feedback sites like e-pinions (www.epinions.com) and Amazon (www.amazon.com) . Some of the most valuable insights into your products will come from these sites because consumers are free to air out their true feelings, using their own words. In closing Ive spent over two decades in the marketing field and one thing I know about companies that are successful marketers is that they commit to research as an ongoing marketing strategy. If youre really serious about improving your companys identity, you must have a market research program in place. Will Contact Lenses Fit Your Lifestyle?

May 17th, 2008 by miacummins

By Charles Kassotis If you need to wear corrective vision lenses due to an eyesight problem, you may be considering the option of wearing contact lenses. These small, lightweight plastic lenses float on the fluid surrounding the eye to improve vision without being seen by others. This option allows lens wearers to eliminate the need for wearing eyeglass frames on their faces, which some people believe adds to their physical appearance. There is also the convenience factor of managing small lenses instead of bulkier framed lenses, which can be dropped, lost, or broken. Contact lenses work well for those who dont mind taking a few seconds morning and night to insert and remove the floating lenses. You will need to rinse each lens with cleaning solution every time you put them in or take them out of your eye. You also need to rinse out the contact lens case and let it dry before adding new fluid whenever you return the lenses to their case. Daily care, then, is a little more time-consuming than merely putting on or taking off eyeglasses. But many people dont mind a little extra effort to be able to avoid wearing facial frames, which can be difficult to fit, steam up, and change someones look. Another aspect of contact lenses is the need for more in-depth cleaning every few days or so. This requires the use of special enzymes purchased for this care. The case and lenses will need to soak for a short period of time in order to remove all eye fluid buildup. Then the lenses and case are rinsed and ready to use. Nowadays, though, many contact lens wearers are opting for the disposable lenses that you wear a few days and then throw away. This helps to reduce the number of hours overall any lens will spend in your eye, thus cutting back on the amount of bacteria that can grow over a period of time and lead to eye irritations, inflammation, or infection. Some people used to buy extended wear contact lenses, which they would leave in for long periods of time. When these began causing problems, manufacturers came up with the disposable lens. Contact lenses work great for professional people on the go or active people who are involved with sports, children, or other activities where eyeglasses could slip off their nose or be yanked off accidentally by kids or competitors. Unlike eyeglasses, contact lenses wont steam up, although one could pop out if your eye becomes dry or you play around with it. Finding a lost contact lens is challenging, to say the least. Fortunately, this doesnt happen very often. If you have never worn contacts before, talk to your eye doctor about the pros and cons of using this vision correction approach, or browse online websites for discussion groups on this topic. Millions of people wear them and love them, so you may be one of those who will benefit from the convenience and comfort of contact lens usage. Dash Diet — Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH)

May 14th, 2008 by miacummins

By Michael Smith, MD Hypertension is another name for high blood pressure. Blood pressure is the force exerted on artery walls when the heart is beating and when it is at rest. The higher number is the “Systolic” pressure and is the pressure exerted on artery walls when the heart is in the contracting phase. The lower number is the “Diastolic” pressure and is the pressure exerted on artery walls when the heart is in the resting phase. High blood pressure is a silent killer. If left unchecked, it can cause permanent damage, resulting in kidney failure, heart attack or stroke. Blood pressure is considered high if the upper number (systolic pressure) is above 140 and the bottom number (diastolic pressure) is above 90 and stays there. Although, many physicians believe these numbers are still too high. Soemthing like 130/80 might be what you need to shoot for in order to lower the risks of hypertension. There are actually two types of high blood pressure. One is primary and the other is secondary. In secondary high blood pressure, usually something else causing it, like an overactive thyroid gland. Share Yourself

May 9th, 2008 by miacummins

By Tomira L. Rosser When you’ve lived with the same person for a long time, it’s easy to fall into a rut. One common thing that happens is people stop talking, whether about important things crucial to the relationship or small things such as how the day went. But keeping the communication going is essential to a satisfying relationship for both parties. This does not mean that you need to approach your partner with the “we need to talk” line; but consider sharing parts of yourself with your partner that he or she may not be aware of, and see how this helps lead to greater intimacy. For example, most couples don’t work together during the day. While some people don’t like to talk about work when they get home, mentioning just one or two things about the day can help your partner feel connected to you. After all, if you’re like many people and spend forty or more hours a week at work, that’s a huge chunk of time that your partner knows nothing about. Providing a little insight into this “other” life helps your partner feel included in your life. Also consider sharing your thoughts and ideas about what’s going on in the world, your kids, or how you’re feeling. When you let your partner into your inner world, you’re demonstrating trust, which also leads to greater intimacy. Yes, these things can make you feel vulnerable, but that’s what an intimate relationship is all about–being open with another person. When you share yourself, you’re also giving the other person permission to share as well. Chances are, when you start communicating more, the other person will do so as well, and you’ll both feel more connected. This article was written by Tomira L.
